Yesterday, McHenry County Blog ran an article announcing a redistricting hearing to be held in Marengo Saturday morning. Three Democrats were to hold the hearing:
- Jack Franks
- Lou Lang
- Frank Mautino
Today comes a press release saying Republican Mike Tryon will also be on the dais. Here it is:
McHenry County House Redistricting Hearing Scheduled for Saturday, April 16 in Marengo
Springfield…..Members of the Illinois House Redistricting Committee will be holding a hearing in McHenry County Saturday at Marengo Community High School.
The meeting will begin at 10:00 A.M. in the school auditorium, and all McHenry County residents are invited to attend. Committee members will explain the remap process that occurs every ten years after census data is gathered, and residents can make public comments to express their ideas and concerns.
State Representatives Mike Tryon (R-Crystal Lake) and Jack Franks (D-Marengo) will both be in attendance at the hearing.
“This part of the state might see some significant changes to legislative boundaries due to population changes over the last ten years,” said Tryon.
“Residents need to attend this meeting and let the members of the majority party who are charged with drawing the new map that we need a fair map based on population only and not on any political agendas.”
