Rep. Walsh statement on death of Osama bin Laden
“Bin Laden’s death marks a historic victory in the War on Terror for the United States”

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Joe Walsh (IL-08) issued the following states on the death of terrorist leader Osama bin Laden:

Joe Walsh

“Nearly ten years after the horrors of September 11th, we received word that the mastermind behind those attacks is dead.”

“Osama Bin Laden’s death marks a historic victory in the War on Terror for the United States. Both former President Bush and President Obama deserve much credit in their quest for justice and fighting terrorism abroad. However, the lion’s share of the credit should go to the dedicated efforts of the American intelligence officials and members of the United States Armed forces that pursued this objective for the past 10 years.”

“While we have much to celebrate, we must not forget that there are still those who want to see America destroyed. We must remain vigilant in defending our freedoms both at home and abroad.”

“This victory will never bring back the precious lives lost on September 11, 2001, nor will it bring back the lives of the many men and women in uniform for paid the ultimate price avenging the terrorist attacks on our great nation. But today, Americans can rest easier knowing this major threat to our nation’s security has been removed. Today, justice has been served.”
