Munaretto Proposes Changes in McHenry County Board Map

Proposed McHenry County Board districts in Southeast McHenry County.

An email from Algonquin’s McHenry County Board member Marc Munaretto:

Dear Fellow Legislative Committee member:

I am proposing a few modest changes to District 1 that more closely align with the priorities established by the Committee to follow both municipal boundaries and township boundaries to create compact county board districts. My proposal unites all of the Village Algonquin into D-1; restores the Algonquin Township precincts 29, 21 and 49 that are currently in D-1; restores Alg. 50 back into District 2 where it is presently and puts Grafton 28, 18 and 11 back into D-5.

Here is a summary of my changes from the Provenzano map proposed for discussion at our last meeting:

Add to D-1: Algonquin 29,21,49 and 55
Add to D-2 Algonquin 50 and Nunda 13
Add to D-5 Grafton 28,18 and 14
Add to D-3 Dorr 14,12 and 11

Thank you for your thoughtful consideration of these changes.

Marc Munaretto

The locations of the precincts can be seen below:

Munaretto Proposes Changes in McHenry County Board Map — 3 Comments

  1. Munaretto doesn’t stand a chance of getting his changes passed due to the bad blood between Koehler and himself but his changes make a great deal of sense.

  2. All these Politians should stop worrying about the Maps and retire. Let some new people run. The sense of entitlement is obscene. If they are so valuable maybe they start a business and create some needed jobs in the private sector..
