Crystal Lake Police Seek Help in Finding Downtown Mugger

A plea for citizen assistance from the Crystal Lake Police:

CLPD looking for assistance with an Aggravated Battery incident that took place on 06/06/2011

On June 6th, 2011 shortly after 4:00 pm, a 38 year old female was walking alone in the alley, on the east side of N. Williams Street between Woodstock Street and Brink Street.

At which time the female was approached by a subject described as a male, white, mid-30’s, blue eyes, approximately 5’8” tall, weighing approximately 175 to 200 pounds and wearing a white tee shirt with a black design on the front of the shirt, with a black pair of pants. Further, the subject appeared to be unshaven, somewhat unkempt, and had a spider web tattoo on the left side of his neck.

As the subject approached the female victim, he had his hand in his pocket and implied that he had a firearm. The offender told the victim that if she attempted to call out for help or didn’t obey his instructions that he would harm her.

During the confrontation with the suspect, the offender grabbed the victim and attempted to guide her to a more secluded location in the alley, he also struck the victim twice in the face and a brief struggle ensued.

The victim was able to break free from the suspect and flee the area.

She immediately notified the police at which time the police responded and were unable to locate the offender.
