Kane County Board Chairman Seeks to Represent Southern McHenry County in State Senate — 6 Comments

  1. Beginning today McHenry County taxpayers will have to evaluate the past record of 33rd Senate candidate Karen McConnaughay. If people like myself are not able to give Cal Skinner the facts this election will cost the McHenry County taxpayers.

Be warned that all is not as it appears with Ms. McConnaughay.

  2. Ms. McConnaughay raised $1.8 million dollars that was placed into the account for Citizens for McConnaughay. Can you imagine that many donations for a board chairman?

Under the administration of Michael McCoy perhaps $50,000 was raised. Why did engineering firms and consultants donate all this money when McConnaughay seemed to profess that their donations did not matter? Yet after all the donations the contracts to these 41 firms (data care of Daily Herald) continued to flow.

Lawsuits filed under the McConnaughay administration quadrupled. In fact in two instances large donors to McConnaughay loyalist reaped large rewards in legal contracts to firms. Tom Cross’ law firm even gets legal work.

McHenry County taxpayers need to know about the facts involving their new annointed Senator.

  3. Comparing McCoy to Karen is like comparing Obama to Jeb Bush. McCoy was a product of nepotism, the old boys network and was Little Lord Fauntleroy. For a politician, he was pretty petulant. What McConnaughay did was clean up Little Mikey’s messes. Getting Kane County into the 21st century left some people upset, including these commenters with their own vicious little agendas.

  4. Karen clean up anything? Please, Mr. Hastert get off the phone.

And check for the clean up from the Local Engineers #150…Thousands of bucks to McConnaughay and named her their “Statesman of the Year” at $20,000 a pop.

The photos of Karen and the boys are priceless. Yeah, Karen is cleaning up government $1,000,000.00 at a time.

  5. I refer you back to what Little Lord Fauntleroy left. Once you refute that, let’s talk. By the way, I was a constituent of Denny’s once. What a disappointment.

  6. Looks like Illinois Review is taking the bait from Mcconnaughay’s new campaign advisor partner in Res Publica.

Looks like Res got a county contract, this guy contributes to her campaign and Res partner now serves as ‘campaign advisor?’ Hope he charges for all the billable hours Res would or else he is a quid pro quo’er.

This is McConnaughay doing what she does best. Rewarding donors and campaign type with contracts complements of Kane County taxpayers.

And why is the GOP in McHenry County so quiet? No candidates of their own? Cal Skinner ought to look at this real closely.

Looks like maybe some agreements could have been made?

If you think you have a concern about taxes now McHenry, wait until Karen McConnaughay works with her engineering pals, state contractors and the rest.

    Just keep your wallet open.
