National Night Out
The Crystal Lake Police Department and the Crystal Lake Downtown Association will be hosting a National Night Out Block Party on Saturday, August 6, 2011 from 5 PM to 9 PM with free admission.
National Night Out, an annual nation-wide event, is designed to promote neighbor safety and provides an opportunity from neighbors to organize against crime.
The Night’s festivities should heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, strengthen police community relations, and generate community support for crime prevention.
This year’s National Night Out event will be on North Williams Street between Brink Street and Crystal Lake Ave. This includes an evening of music, fun, food, and entertainment!
Planned activities include Karaoke on the Raue Center Stage, Baggo Tournament, and free face painting.
Some of the displays include Police and Fire/Rescue Vehicles, Police K-9 demonstration, Police Gang Officer display, and the Crystal Lake Police Department’s Emergency Services Team.
In addition, there will games for the kids, live music (“The Stingrays” — playing 50’s, 60’s and 70’s Rock & Roll), and plenty of food.
Onsite food vendors include:
- Galloway’s Subs,
- Georgio’s Pizzeria,
- Knights of Columbus and
- Pop’s Corn Crib.
