Congressman Walsh Announces 10 Town Halls in 10 Days Tour

WASHINGTON – U.S. Congressman Joe Walsh today announced plans to hold a 10 Town Halls in 10 Days Tour throughout Illinois’ 8th Congressional District. Congressman Walsh will be available to answer all questions and address all concerns about federal legislation. Members of Walsh’s staff will also be available to assist residents with federal casework.

Joe Walsh at his first Town Hall Meeting at McHenry West High School on a snowy December, 2010, night prior to being sworn into office.

“I was sent to Washington to represent the people of the 8th District of Illinois, and it’s critical that I spend as much time as possible back home to hear what they have to say,” Congressman Walsh said.

“To date I have already held over forty town halls, and plan on holding more town halls this recess than any other Member of Congress.

“These Town Hall meetings give me the opportunity to make sure I am hearing the voices, ideas, and concerns of my constituents, while giving constituents the opportunity to learn about what has been happening in Washington.

“Hearing directly from them helps me accomplish my goal of putting the power back where it belongs: in the hands of the people.”

Congressman Walsh will take questions and address important issues that face Illinois and the nation at each event.
