North Barrington, Ill. – Aug. 15, 2011 – Barrington-area resident and community leader Nick Sauer, a conservative Republican, announced his candidacy today for Lake County Board Member in District 17, currently held by Stevenson Mountsier.  Mountsier recently announced he will not seek re-election in 2012.

“After careful consideration and encouragement from local leaders and fellow citizens, I have decided to enter the race,” says Sauer.

“As a County Board member, my priorities will include keeping taxes low for our families and small businesses, supporting a pro-growth economic agenda to attract jobs, maintaining our AAA bond rating, and sustaining the natural resources and environment that make our area so unique,” Sauer added.

Outgoing Board Member Mountsier said “I’m pleased and proud to endorse Nick Sauer to represent District 17 on the Lake County Board. Based on his work on the Barrington 220 Board of Education and his understanding of small business economic realities, I know that Nick will continue our good work to protect Lake County’s ‘AAA’ bond rating, grow jobs and preserve our quality of life in Lake County.”
