Nunda Township Supervisor John Heisler is McHenry County highest paid.

Continuing a periodic look at township government, the Daily Herald listed the salariesof Township Supervisors from the Collar Counties today.

Reporter Jake Griffin wrote a story about what suburban county Township Supervisors earn.

Highest was Vernon Township Supervisor and retired State Senator Bill Petersen.  He is paid $106,000.

The four largest townships in McHenry County made the top twenty-one:

  • Nunda Township – $72,685
  • McHenry Township – $71,584
  • Algonquin Township – $63,244
  • Grafton Township- $55,198

All salaries are set by township boards prior to election of the next set of township officials. Of course, with the exception of Grafton Township, the Township Supervisors are the same people who were in office before the 2009 township elections.

McHenry County Blog printed the prospective salaries prior to the township elections.

  1. Do these people work 40 hours a week, what do they do, what are their benefits and pensions, and what where their salary increases year of year for the last 10 years. Not really expecting an answer, but the point is, no one is paid to look at stuff like that. With that said, townships are in the bottom half of the barrel of concerns on how government is spending money. School districts sit at the top of the barrel.

Lawsuit Linda spends her time thinking of ways to squander taxpayer money on litigation. She must have her way at ALL cost. No “fiduciary duty” on Linda’s part. It’s all about Linda! There is no means to recall a township supervisor. Sad! Rumor has it Linda Moore is running for McH County Board. Look out!
