Assistant McHenry County State’s Attorney Don Leist, who has been defending McHenry County Sheriff Keith Nygren against a suit to have a Special Prosecutor named to investigate Nygren’s alleged use of tax dollars to promote his campaign, has been replaced.
Private attorney Bill Caldwell will take over from Leist in the suit brought by Zane Seipler, former and future deputy sheriff (if last week’s 2nd Appellate Court decision reinstating him stands).
Seipler also mounted an unsuccessful primary election campaign against Nygren in 2010.
A document McHenry County Blog has obtained shows that Leist represented Seipler in Estate of Maxson, et al, vs. McHenry County Sheriff, et al. Seipler, Theresa Harper, John Koziel, Tim Matteson, Jillian Tutt, Tom Monday, Steven Schmitt and Anton Cundiff are also mentioned as defendants in the document.
Recently announced candidate for McHenry County Sheriff Andy Zinke, running with Nygren’s support, is identified as a sergeant.
Now does Nygren “support” Zinke or does he “endorse” Zinke. I seem to remember Keith saying he supported Bianchi in 2008 but he endorsed Regna. Zinke better be careful because Keith knows the difference between support and endorse. Look for Keith to endorse someone from his home in Florida after he retires next month. Health issues are bound to arise after a Special Prosecutor is appointed.
Right on – trailer. Zinke needs to learn when he is being used. Nygren would only give any kind of anything to someone that can be controlled with strings.

Appears from recent Skinner Photo shots, that Nygren has gained it all back plus another 50.
