Shawn Green Comments on County Board Petitioning Process in District 6

An email from McHenry County Board District 6 candidate Shawn Green:

Shawn Green listening at a Huntley School Board meeting.

The filing deadline has arrived, and I’m happy to see the large pool of candidates running for local office. Over the last several weeks, I’ve had many terrific conversations with McHenry County voters.

From Harvard to Marengo, from residents of Sun City in Huntley to business owners in Hebron, the message I received was loud and clear;

“Don’t spend more than we can afford, cut the budget before raising taxes, and don’t run as a Republican if you’re a Democrat at heart.”

I take each of these issues very seriously, and couldn’t agree more. I strongly believe in a sound fiscal policy, built on the premise that every penny the county takes in belongs to the taxpayers.

As a county board member, I will work tirelessly to ensure the taxpayers’ interests always come first. Additionally, while others may associate with the Republican Party out of political convenience, I can assure my fellow Republican primary voters that I am a true Conservative.

I encourage voters to thoroughly research all of the candidates- not just for county board, but for all offices. My website is www.electshawngreen.org Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.

I sincerely appreciate the feedback and kind words of encouragement I’ve received thus far, and I look forward to continuing the important conversation of how to keep McHenry County on the right track.

Thank you to the volunteers who gathered petition signatures and those who have contributed to my campaign in other ways. I pledge to prove myself worthy of your support.

Sincerely,

Shawn Green
