  • $500 – TR PAC, Springfield
  • $1,175 in amounts of under $150

I don’t have time to do the analysis, but observant folks will probably note that a lot of the campaign contributors here would be those contributing to any Republican incumbent. It is interesting that Com Ed and Ameren made such significant contributions to a state representative that did not vote for their electric rate hike bill. Having the Republican House Leader wanting to elect one probably provided an assist in that area.

Kent Gaffney Reports $36,000 in the Bank, $29,000 Spent — 6 Comments

  1. Kent seems to bee a very nice person.

But when you look at the article above he will be a typical get along go along Tom Cross disciple.

He continues to associate himself with the status quo.

With the poor shape Illinois is in we need more bold leadership not the same old go a long get a long Republican Party.

  2. Who do you go with then:

The guy who is apparently trying to buy the election so that he can set himself up for higher office; or the gal who seems to be out of her element.

This is going to be a tough choice no matter who you go with.

  3. What I noticed was that nearly all of Kent’s contributors are from illinois but that a lot of mcsweeneys are from out of state.

I think that says a lot about the depth of a campaign.

At the end though all that matters is whether or not McSweeney wins his objection.

McSweeney is betting the house on the objection and if he loses he will probably be forced to withdraw.

  4. Kent is a family man, he came to my door, and talked issues with me. I’m really impressed so far.
