After two political gatherings at Lakewood’s Lou Malnati’s, a Republican candidate has decided it’s time for thin crust pizza.
Nick’s Pizza at the corner of Virginia Street and Pyott Roads is the place that newcomer Tom Wilbeck has selected for his $25 fund raiser.
Wilbeck is the one who decided to run for the McHenry County Board on the very last day because he didn’t agree with the Board’s vote to take as much money from our pockets as the Property Tax Cap law allows. (That’s a 1.5% tax hike in this spring’s bills.)
He is running in District 2, where all of the incumbents voted for the maximization of taxes. One, Scott Breeden, is not running for re-election.
The other three
- Jim Heisler
- Ken Koehler
- Donna Kurtz
are.
A fifth candidate, Crystal Lake City Councilwoman Carolyn Schofield, has tossed her hat in the ring.
Good to see some qualified new blood on the list.
A tax hawk works for me!!
Why is everything always held on weekdays during the evenings?
Some have night jobs.
WE can NEVER attend anything!
A tax hawk most definitely.
