HUNTLEY, IL – The editors and staff of HuntleyVoice.com, Huntley High School’s online newspaper, was recently named a national Pacemaker finalist by the National Scholastic Press Association (NSPA).

Under the leadership of online editor, Michael Geheren, HuntleyVoice.com was one of two school sites in the State and one of 31 school sites nationally to be named as a finalist for this prestigious award.

The NSPA Online Pacemaker contest recognizes high school publication websites. Entries are judged based on content, design, writing and editing, rich media and breaking news.

I’m so proud of these kids… truly an amazing achievement, especially given that is our first year online”, stated advisor Dennis Brown.

Geheren and Brown will attend the JEA/NSPA National High School Journalism Convention on April 14, 2012 in Seattle, at which time the Pacemaker winners will be announced.
