St. Charles, IL—State Senate candidate Karen McConnaughay (R-33) completed a clean sweep of newspaper endorsements when she received the enthusiastic support of the Chicago Tribune. Along with the Kane County Chronicle, the Northwest Herald and the Daily Herald, McConnaughay has been endorsed by every daily paper serving her district that is making selections in the March 20 primary.

“The endorsements all cite the same thing…leadership,” said McConnaughay, who currently serves as Chairman of the Kane County Board.

“No matter how many fabricated distractions are conjured up in this race, these editors see through the smokescreen and judge candidates on their merits. I am proud that I have earned their endorsements.”

In her races for County Board Chairman and now for the Senate, McConnaughay has received every available daily newspaper endorsement, and is consistently praised for her leadership and accomplishments and the 2012 primary campaign is no exception.

The 33rd Senate District includes northeastern Kane and southeastern McHenry Counties.

  1. And this is no surprise…the endorsements were done long before the first week of the campaign. Pat Brady and Mr. Hastert have a great deal of influence with the media. Expect her paid PR Chicago guys to raise heck on this true comment.

In a GOP primary voters should be wise to the media bias.

The facts speak for themselves. McConnaughay states she is anti union after taking almost $65,000 from unions. Spent $300,000 just to get elected in a county board race. Had five cronies lose in past elections.

McConnaughay realizes the “attacks” are facts. She is hoping voters don’t look too closely.

The majority of board members have known what a disaster her leadership has been and how costly it is to Kane County.

Her pals at the Tribune are crazy enough to state “she can’t get to Springfield fast enough????” Voters will regret the day they sent her there should she be elected.

She won’t be there long. She is using them most likely to run for higher office with more empty promises and more inflated facts about her record.

Tick off the establishment and the media. Vote Surges.

  2. here is a newsflash for Ms. McConnaughay.

she has spent little time talking to people.

she has an alarm to keep the public out of her office at the county.

you have to be buzzed in after you are approved.

does she care what we think? no it is always about which springfield group support her or what paper endorses her.

did one paper ever go out to question the public or the people that work with her?

the answer is no because they would never endorse her if they did.

  3. She couldn’t of said it better:

“In an era where a small cadre dwell on destructive uninformed political mudslinging, it is reassuring to know that sensible people see past the empty attacks and focus on the issues,” said McConnaughay. “The voters of the Fox Valley area are smart enough to judge based on the facts and the candidates’ records.”

It amazes me that those of the “small cadre” who beg for these types of endorsements reject them when their weaker candidates are snubbed.

    Priceless!
