Hultgren Hits High Corporate Income Tax Hike

A press release from Congressman Randy Hultgren:

Randy Hultgren

“Did you know that on April 1st, the United States earned the title of having the highest corporate tax rate in the world?

“This isn’t, unfortunately, a bad April Fool’s Day joke.

“Instead, it’s another reason that U.S. businesses can’t compete with foreign businesses on a level playing field – and it’s another reason we need to reform our nation’s tax code.

“In the weeks and months ahead in Congress, I hope we have that debate, over how to increase U.S. global competitiveness while lessening the tax burden on families and small businesses.

“In other news this week, I’m pleased to report that President Obama has signed the JOBS Act and STOCK Act into law. As you may know, the JOBS Act will reduce barriers to capital for small businesses, helping them to grow and expand.

“The STOCK Act strengthens the existing prohibition on insider trading by members of Congress and staffers. I was proud to support both of these bills, and I’m glad that they’re now the law of the land.

“If you haven’t already, be sure to like my Facebook page, follow me on Twitter, or check out my YouTube page to stay informed on everything I’m doing on your behalf in Washington and in Illinois.

“As always, it is truly an honor to serve you in Washington. Please contact me at 630.232.7104 or 202.225.2976 if I can be of assistance, or if you’d like to share your thoughts on the issues before Congress.

“In service,

Randy Hultgren,
Member of Congress
