Tonya Franklin Introduces Herself

Tonya Franklin

Tonya Franklin, a local Republican and a nationally renown Tea Party activist, wants to run against Democrat Jack Franks for Illinois State Representative in the 63rd district.

For unknown reasons she has yet to be given the ok to run as a Republican by the McHenry County Republican Party central committee.

Tonya does not support the enactment of Obamacare in Illinois TWO YEARS EARLY as is being proposed by Democrats and many Republicans.

“I would simply vote ‘NO’ and I would work with every conservative in Springfield to make sure this never saw the light of day,” said Tonya Franklin.

“Can we be sure that Jack Franks would vote against this? I do not think so.

“This idea is reckless, fiscally irresponsible, empowers big government, and crushes the free market system… something we all know the Democrats and Jack Franks want to do.”

Tonya Franklin has a network in McHenry County’s 63rd district ready to help get her on the ballot.

She also has statewide and national support from many activists and leaders.

Currently, she is waiting for the ok to run by the Republican Party of McHenry.

“As someone who works in the medical field I know exactly just how damaging this compromise would be, not only be to our state, but people right here in the 63rd district,” added Franklin.

The McHenry County Republican Party needs a qualified conservative to run against Jack Franks in the November Election! There is a conservative who can run and win.

Her name is Tonya Franklin.

Tonya Franklin is currently employed as a licensed Medical Instructor.  Tonya has been working in the Health Care Industry for over 16 years on and off since 1996.

As a small business owner she has created four successful businesses from the ground up.

Moreover, she hired through a program that employs at-risk teens and teen mothers.

Tonya understands the importance of free market capitalism and how destructive an intrusive government can be.

Tonya was a Red Cross Relief Coordinator on Hurricane Katrina efforts.  Tonya understands how important volunteering and local activism is in the community.

While her husband was stationed in Florida, she worked with her State Representative in Florida by speaking in front of a large audience on the problems that were plaguing the Child Support Enforcement System, specifically deadbeat parents leaving the state to avoid payment. Tonya’s direct efforts led to the successful submission and overwhelming passage of legislation reforming child support laws in Florida.

  1. It is obvious that The McHenry County Central Committee of the Republican Party did not slate Tonya Franklin because she is wholly unqualified.

Franklin said in her statemen about Obamacare being enacted in Illinois two years earlier than the national program, “Can we be sure that Jack Franks would vote against this? I do not think so.”

Well, you should have done your research. Franks already voted “no” on that expansion! So you agree with Franks on that issue.

So if early enactment of Obamcare is your only problem with Franks, then I guess you have no reason to run for office because you support the position he has already taken.

  2. The press release says ““Can we be sure that Jack Franks would vote against this? I do not think so…”

Besides the fact the legislation has nothing to do with the Affordable Care Act, your point is moot. Rep. Franks voted NO:

With due respect, that’s a pretty poor introduction. Evidently, Ms Franklin doesn’t know what all those evil Democrats would do – I hope this is a lesson to do research first.

  3. Interesting that both ‘Knight Rider’ and ‘Linda S.’ have basically the same comment.

Does Mrs. Franklin have a lot to learn about the evil in Illinois politics?

Oh, yes!.. That is why we need her to run.

Jack Franks has had too easy a ride into the realm of the Madigan machine.

We need someone who is NOT too “up to speed” on Illinois politics.

Give her some time, but first she has to get beyond what appears to be ‘shenanigans’ of the McHenry GOP.

Why was there any hesitancy to have her run?

Is the GOP going to fund her campaign?

Is she a threat to the ‘same old’?

  4. I don’t agree with Jack Franks on FOCA.

Freedom Of Choice Act is a despicable piece of legislation.

    Usurping parents rights.

Do you agree with Jack Franks wanting to pass a law that makes it legal for your child to obtain an abortion instead of attending class, then sent home on the bus so you would never be the wiser?

Of course you could argue that he pulled his name from the bill the next day after protestors showed up to line both sides of 47 here in front of his Woodstock office.

So officially Jack doesn’t support it now.

Well there is something else we agree on.

Using this logic Jack and Tonya will be pals and there is no reason to run.

That isn’t rational logic and I am not backing down.

Jack Franks is a Democrat regardless of the image he portrays to those enamored of him.

He is a vote for Madigan and he can’t hide from that.

I am a Republican and I will do everything in my power to help the Republicans.

The free ride on our ticket is over.

The (real) Republicans in McHenry County are awake and reporting for duty.

  5. Admitting that she has a lot to learn isn’t the same as being woefully ignorant of the challenges Illinois faces.

    She’s a tea partier.

Fine, she doesn’t hide that fact.

But when your level of engagement begins and ends with epithets like ‘Obamacare’ and a solitary-issue focus on abortion — it highlights someone more interested in holding up a sign and decrying mostly self-manufactured issues like the President’s birth certificate — than someone capable of dealing with issues that aren’t as black and white as cable TV makes it seem.

She wants to be Joe Walsh.

I hate to break the news, but Springfield isn’t DC.

But yeah, I’m still waiting on that ‘reason to run.’ By skipping the primary process, there certainly was time to come up with a better answer than ‘someone is better than no one.’

  6. @Tonya

You’re argument doesn’t make sense and isn’t remotely rational.

The previous posts call out the blatant falsehood in your press release.

You claimed Franks supported something be voted against the day before.

That’s just sloppy. You might be better off just owned up to the mistake.

Not sure how your story addresses your oversight?

Do the voters in the 63rd District not deserve an honest discussion of the issues being discussed now? Start acting serious — if you want to be treated as a serious candidate.

  7. It just means Tonya you really gotta realize every single night for the next couple of days you should be researching… Otherwise you WILL have a failure of a campaign.

You don’t need to just convince the committeeman but you gotta convince the people that you know who the man is…

  8. Cal, I appreciate the articles you have written about Tonya Franklin and her quest to oppose Franks in November.

    It’s a real eye opener.

This situation with Tryon not willing to appoint her, just sickens me.

This is only one example of how local Republicans are destroying the Party.

The Democrats must be having a good laugh.

  9. Would it be safe to say that the McHenry County Republican Party vetted Tonya, realized she was not the one and appropriately gave Tonya the “thumbs down?”

This could be a case of “the devil you know” with Franks, even though he is a democrat.

  10. Tyron doesn’t have the right to vet Tonya. He has a right and responsibility to call a meeting. He is a stooge for the Democrats.

Rather then attacking Tonya why isn’t he spending his resources of the McHenry County Republicans her supporting her as she mounts this campaign.

After-all, he DID ask for Committeemen to find a candidate. I celebrate the team of Conservative women who actively sought out and located such a fine candidate. Great jobs Ladies!

Once again the work is done by the Conservative females.

Do not underestimate Ms. Franklin. It is like underestimating any passionate warrior, inspired by love of country!

Mr. Tryon, stop the shenanigans, support her!

  12. What is this “statewide and national support”?

“As someone who works in the medical field I know exactly just how damaging this compromise would be, not only be to our state, but people right here in the 63rd district,”

Because she is a medical instructor?

As a small business owner she has created four successful businesses from the ground up.

    What businesses are these??

Tonya understands the importance of free market capitalism and how destructive an intrusive government can be.

    OH boy….

Tonya’s direct efforts led to the successful submission and overwhelming passage of legislation reforming child support laws in Florida.

    SHE did this huh….

  13. You guys HAVE to be kidding?

Cal, where do you find these people?

  14. Of course, I think the better question is why Republican leaders have failed to find anyone to run against “Chainsaw Jack” Franks for three out of the last four election cycles.

    And, actually, she found me.

  15. I voted for Jack first time he ran.

He has done nothing but make noise.

Let us see what the lady has to offer.
