Walsh’s Weekly Wrap-Up

An email from Congressman Joe Walsh:

Walsh’s Weekly Wrap-Up

Joe Walsh

Over the Memorial Day weekend, we must not lose sight of the actual holiday we are celebrating and take the time to remember the brave men and women who have given so much to defend our families. I wish everyone a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend.

Last week in Washington, I came out in support of the No Budget, No Pay Act.

The No Budget, No Pay Act is simple –if we don’t do our work, we don’t get paid.

It has been more than 1,000 days since Congress has passed a budget and 15 years since appropriation bills were passed on time.

This is absolutely unacceptable and a complete failure.

his bill brings us one step closer to ending a dysfunctional Congress. Americans work hard to earn their paychecks and Members of Congress should not be any different. Click here to read my full statement.

Last week, the National Defense Reauthorization Act passed the House and included the Walsh Amendment and language from my bill, the Small Business Protection Act.

The Walsh Amendement provides more opportunities for returning servicemen and women to find good-paying careers that reward their skill-level and experience.

It brings us one step closer to solving the high unemployment among America’s youngest veterans. Click here to read my full statement.

Our mobile office hours have changed!

Yesterday Congressman Peter Roskam and I held a Regional Homeland Security Roundtable to hear from local law enforcement, fire department officials, and Homeland Security partner agencies to better understand the problems they are facing.

My staff will hold mobile office hours every Friday from 12:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. at the Schaumburg Township Center, One Illinois Blvd. Hoffman Estates, IL. If you cannot make it to one of my district offices, let us come to you!

I wish everyone a happy and safe Memorial Day weekend!

I work for you,

Joe Walsh
