Walsh’s Weekly Wrap-Up

This Wednesday, June 13th, I am hosting a Job Fair in Schaumburg from 11:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. A number of Illinois employers will be in attendance and this is a great opportunity to meet with local businesses.

Employers seeking more information or who are interested in participating in the job fair should contact my district office at (847) 973-9341. Job seekers do not need to call in advance of the fair. More information on the job fair can be found below.

Rep. Walsh and Rep. Rogers at the Town Hall Meeting in Arlington Heights on the TSA and airport security procedures.

Earlier this week, I took an in depth tour and examinantion of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) at Chicago’s O’Hare airport.

Congressman Mike Rogers, Chairman of the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Transportation Security, joined me for the tour and a town hall meeting in Arlington Heights.

By touring O’Hare, we were able to witness firsthand all aspects of airport security; how it works, what is effective, and what needs reform. We must continue to make sure techniques used by TSA are not over intrusive to patrons and that resources are not being wasted on unnecessary security procedures.

I am grateful that Chairman Rogers joined me in examining airport safety back home in Illinois.

Americans should feel safe and secure in Chicago airports and all airports around the country. Click here to view my full statement.

This week I, along with three other Members of the Illinois delegation [Randy Hultgren, Don Manzullo and Tim Johnson], urged Governor Pat Quinn to give residents their constitutional right to protect and defend themselves.

Time and again, the State’s anti-gun policies have proven ineffective at best and un-safe for law-abiding citizens at worst.

Currently, Illinois is the only state in this nation that has not passed a conceal and carry gun law. Why? It is time for state lawmakers to give our constituents the constitutional right to protect themselves. Click here to view my full statement.

My staff will hold mobile office hours every Friday from 12:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. at the Schaumburg Township Center, One Illinois Blvd. Hoffman Estates, IL. If you cannot make it to one of my district offices, let us come to you!

I work for you,
