Walsh Comments on Obama’s Immigration Policy “Power Grab”

Joe Walsh vows to maintain Congressional balance of power.

A press release from Congressman Joe Walsh:

Congressman Walsh Responds to Obama’s Amnesty Policy

Today the White House announced a new executive order that will halt the deportation of illegal immigrants coming over the border at a young age, while granting them work permits.

This executive order that bypasses Congress gives many illegal immigrants legal worker status.

Congressman Joe Walsh stated, “This election year move by President Obama floods the weak job market with many more workers, who will be competing with unemployed and underemployed Americans for jobs they sorely need.

“We just saw unemployment and jobless claims increase these past few weeks, and the President is willing to make it that much more difficult for Americans looking for work.”

Walsh went on to say,

“This move shows why we need an independent voice and a check on the abuse of power in Washington.

“Unlike my opponent, Tammy Duckworth, who has made it clear she is a rubber stamp for Obama’s policies, I will oppose this or any President’s power grab.

“Whether it is against this executive order or the President’s mandate that limits religious freedoms, I am committed to remaining a check on unchecked power to help return control of our government to the people.”

  1. obama will do anything to buy votes.

This is a good example of how he operates. He is sure he is above the law.

He must be stopped before it is too late.

November is not that far away.

Remember what he has done and vote him out !!!!

  2. There’s no Executive Order about this immigration policy on the White House website yet. Here’s what has been released up to this time.

June 15, 2012 memo from Janet Napolitano, Secretary of Homeland Security, titled “Exercising Prosecutorial Discretion with Respect to Individuals Who Came to the United States as Children.”

June 15, 2012 Dept of Homeland Security press release titled,
“Secretary Napolitano Announces Deferred Action Process for Young People Who Are Low Enforcement Priorities.”

President Obama’s June 15, 2012 speech from the Rose Garden, titled “Remarks From the President On Immigration,” about Secretary Napolitano’s announcement.

  3. It is clear that Mr. Walsh has no clue what actually happened.

Thank, Mark, for the accurate information and links.

While it does appear that Mr. Obama is pushing his Dream Act through the back door via Homeland Security, I can’t say anyone has done anything wrong, or usurped anyone’s powers.

    So far.

  4. Children brought here not of their own doing, who go to school get good grades, go to college and serve our nation deserve better than deportation.

    Those are American values.

  5. Sounds to me like we are going to need more government workers to sort out who came here under 16, who got good grades, who does not have a criminal background (does that include driving without a license or insurance???), etc., etc.

    What nonsense!

  6. Obama is in direct violation of the Constitution.

Whether he issues a formal EO or not is irrelevant.

He is REQUIRED to enforce the laws of the United States.

    This is not optional.

He’s made a pattern of thumbing hois nose at the Constitution.

This is who Obama is: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/.a/6a00d8341c630a53ef01630347cc66970d-600wi

LCtruth, Mark, and Dragonwych are aiding and abetting Obama in subverting the Constitution.

They’ll never “find” any act of Obama’s that crosses the line.

They’ll always be loyal servants of a man who intends to overthrow the Constitution if he wins reelection.

    That is who progressives are.
