Walsh’s Weekly Wrap-Up

An email from Congressman Joe Walsh:

“This Monday, June 25th, I am holding a field hearing in the Hoffman Estates to hear from local small business owners on how the high gas prices are affecting their small businesses.

“This event is open to the public. More information can be found below.

“Earlier this week, I introduced the Federal Elections Integrity Act, which requires voters to present a government-issued photo ID to vote in federal elections.

“Voter fraud in this country is a real issue.

“We have seen plenty of examples of people lying about who they are, and convicted felons, dead people, and illegal immigrants often vote.

“This bill is just common sense.

“The American people understand that it does not make any sense that a photo ID is required to get a library card or board an airplane, but not required to do something as sacred as voting.

“Click here for more information on the Federal Elections Integrity Act.

“As a member of the Government Oversight and Reform Committee, I voted to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress for not cooperating with an October 12, 2011 subpoena.

“I do not take this action lightly, and I think it is regretful that it has reached this point.

“All of this could have been avoided if the Attorney General provided the documents needed to conduct this investigation. For too long Attorney General Holder has demonstrated a lack of accountability and concern.

“Operation Fast and Furious was a tragic mistake. Click here

“Joe Walsh”

  1. It is refreshing that a journalist and blogger would write facts and give the GOP reguars of McHenry County a few things to think about.

I am wondering why the GOP, the party that needs just 6 or so more seats to
end the era of Madigan control in Springfield, neglects to field a candidate for
    every State Rep position.

Would or political process be strengthened by a candidate, of either party, to at least
having an opponent of the ballot to ask a few questions?

I know it is not a US Congressional issue, but to save Illinois, we need to
get a State Rep candidate on the ballot in every SR District.

What is up with Mike Tryon, McHenry County Chairman, not getting behind
    a challenger to Jack Franks?

  2. It is too late now to field a candidate.

McHenry County is a joke and a very bad one at that.

  3. Wow- I understand your bitterness at the local party for not slating you but this county is a wonderful place and I don’t appreciate you slamming it.

If you want to say the Republican party is a joke, go right ahead.

  4. To Tonya: You were a joke of a candidate.

The fact that you see yourself as a viable candidate is nothing short than hysterical – much like Joe Walsh’s proposed voter ID bill.

That said, don’t we already have a signature check?

    Answer: Yes.

Aren’t you more likely to be struck by lightening than commit and incident of voter fraud?

    Yes.

Is Joe Walsh two sandwiches short of a picnic basket?

    Yes.

  5. Joe you understand nothing about me.

    You don’t even know me.

    Bitterness?

I am not bitter……I pointed out that the Republicans cannot find one single person to challenge Franks, they cannot seem to get positions filled for Precinct Committeemen, even with plenty of volunteers and of course they can’t even get the elected Committeemen to show up to meetings.

Again….the McHenry County Republican Party is an embarrassment.

  6. Mr. Walsh and Darrel Issa have just become the # one and # two UNION BUSTERS!!
