If you get stuck at the light coming out of Crystal Lake’s Walmart or Toyota dealership, look to your left.
The City Council has zoned land for 600 condos somewhere behind the store.
Don’t worry.
There won’t be any kids living there for which a new school will have to be built.
District 47 is getting fewer and fewer students and even considered closing an elementary school.
That project was approved years ago, before the real estate meltdown.
The developer knew better than to start building.
