Zinke Off Hatch Act Hook

in response to a Freedom of Information Act request I have discovered that McHenry County Undersheriff Andy Zinke is not precluded by the Federal Hatch Act from running in the Republican primary for Sheriff in 2014.

The short answer was contained in an email which arrived on March 19th. You can see it below:

The U.S. Justice Department Office of Special Counsel’s Mary Larson emailed Undersheriff Andy Zinke on March 19, 2012, that she had determined that he was not covered by the Federal Hatch Act.

The March 19th letter follows:

You may remember that the organization chart was changed for the Sheriff’s Department for the coming budget year.

  1. Thank goodness!!!

If Zinke is good to go then Seipler can too.

    Zane for Sheriff 2014!!!!

  2. Hold on boys this is going to get fun.

Looks like Andy the clown is running, Hahaha.

This is going to get good.

  3. Did Zinke tell her how few days Nygren works and how many days Zinke performs the duties of sheriff?

The lady is clueless about how business is conducted at MCSD.

  4. Wait, Wait guys, is this another Zinke do not attend or another FBI letter, that no one can find?

  5. And yet 6 weeks later Undersheriff Zinke records this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RRuYVdoGTME where he is speaking on behalf of the jail and using the institutional “we” and “our”.

Also what about the S.T.E.P. and child passenger safety grants?

And of course, wearing a MCSO uniform, with sidearm, to political events.

Up until recently he even boasted on his website of “procuring federal funds.”

My guess is either the OSC has completely dropped the ball for whatever reason.

Or there is a reopened OSC investigation as Federal investigators were mislead.

  6. Joe I would agree MISLEAD.

Man I have to wonder does the citizens of this county care anymore.

Tax dollars being wasted, county board members rubber stamping whatever they need to because they want to keep the 20,000 a year part time job with benefits.

RINOS running rapid in McHenry county.

Pathetic and of course Andy the Clown wanting to be the Sheriff, hahahaha
