Algonquin Township is not the only one in McHenry County deciding on salaries for the next term of office this week.
While Algonquin meets Wednesday night, McHenry Township officials gather Thursday night.
Their proposed salaries, which are the same as now, follow:
Supervisor’s Salary: Effective for each of the following years: May 20, 2012 – May 15, 2017
- $72,384 per year
- Road District Treasurer: Additional $ 1000 Annually
Township Clerk: Effective for each of the following years: May 20, 2013 – May 15, 2017 – $13,907 per year
Trustees: Effective for each of the following years: May 20, 2013 – May 15, 2017 – $ 100 per diem
Assessor: Term is from January 1, 2014– January 1, 2018 – $72,384 per year
Highway Commissioner: May 20, 2013 – May 15, 2017 – $81,437
In addition, the resolution provides the following fringe benefits:
- Highway Commissioner, Supervisor & Assessor: Same health insurance, life insurance, IMRF retirement fund etc. as all other full time employees (elected officials pay the same amount of employee paid premiums)
- Township Clerk: IMRF retirement fund
Unlike Alg. Twp., McHenry is being responsible. Wise decision.
Just as a point of reference. McHenry Township is the largest township in the county.
Don’t think so.
In 2010,
Algonquin was 95,163
McHenry was 44,273
Nunda was 37,246
Grafton was 36,226
Dorr was 19,079
Greenwood was 11,261
At least that’s what the County Year Book says.
