McHenry Township Board Setting Salaries Thursday – No Increases Proposed

Algonquin Township is not the only one in McHenry County deciding on salaries for the next term of office this week.

While Algonquin meets Wednesday night, McHenry Township officials gather Thursday night.

Their proposed salaries, which are the same as now, follow:

Supervisor’s Salary: Effective for each of the following years: May 20, 2012 – May 15, 2017

  • $72,384 per year
  • Road District Treasurer: Additional $ 1000 Annually

Township Clerk: Effective for each of the following years: May 20, 2013 – May 15, 2017 – $13,907 per year

Trustees: Effective for each of the following years:  May 20, 2013 – May 15, 2017 – $ 100 per diem

Assessor: Term is from January 1, 2014– January 1, 2018 – $72,384 per year

Highway Commissioner:  May 20, 2013 – May 15, 2017 – $81,437

In addition, the resolution provides the following fringe benefits:

  • Highway Commissioner, Supervisor & Assessor:  Same health insurance, life insurance, IMRF retirement fund etc. as all other full time employees (elected officials pay the same amount of employee paid premiums)
  • Township Clerk:  IMRF retirement fund

    Just as a point of reference. McHenry Township is the largest township in the county.

    In 2010,
    Algonquin was 95,163
    McHenry was 44,273
    Nunda was 37,246
    Grafton was 36,226
    Dorr was 19,079
    Greenwood was 11,261

    At least that’s what the County Year Book says.
