There apparently was a tense situation north of Marengo about noon today.
Since the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department refuses to make press releases available on its modernized web site until after newspapers and electronic media (with the exception of some blogs) have run the story, you can’t read the story here or on said web site.
You can read the press release on the Chicago Tribune web site, however.
The probably slightly re-written version can be found here.
The headline is
Deputies use beanbags to subdue man who pointed gun at them
Amazingly enough, Undersheriff Andy Zinke’s name does not appear in the article.
The person in question, according to the Tribune, is Edward P. Bolen.
Let’s pray all our guys are safe!
The Northwest Herald article included, “It also was not clear how many deputies were involved or how many shots authorities fired.”
Apparently, only deputies fired shots. It should take about five minutes to determine how many were fired at Bolen, whom they didn’t hit until the beanbag shotgun was used in the basement.
1. Count the casings; or
2. Subtract the remaining live rounds from the total carried by each deputy.
Deputies should know how many rounds they carry in their weapons and in spare magazines in holders on their belts. Mentally, you count rounds as you fire them, so you know when to reload.
Watch the movie, Dirty Harry, again. What did Callahan say? Something like, “I know what you are thinking, punk. ‘Did he fire five times or did he fire six?'” Callahan knew. (I know, I know.. it was a movie.)
Andy the CLOWN is getting desperate, hahhahaaha. Andy stop its over the wall is falling. How about the domestic issue with SGT. P.
