Message of the Day – Crosses

This evening I was  at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Crystal Lake registering voters.

A man not attending services said he was there as part of an effort to erect crosses in memory of the millions of babies that have been aborted since Roe v. Wade was handed down by the U.S. Supreme Court.

One cross for every million babies who died an untimely death by way of an abortion.

As I was leaving I saw the Knights of Columbus at work on Route 14.

I asked how many crosses were being put up.

“96.”

Drivers on Route 176 in Crystal Lake will see 96 crosses in front of St. Thomas Catholic Church during October. They are in memory of the 96 million babies aborted since Roe v. Wade was handed down by the U.S. Supreme Court.

I didn’t realize the total had risen that high.

92 million babies.

  1. Actually, who can say, considering that abortion is the most unregulated business in America. But the usual estimates are more like 55 million at this point. Cold comfort that it’s not 96. Can we agree that 55 million are too many?

  2. Penny? Just like if you see a rodent there are more than likely 40 hidden that you do not see….?

Until this nation stops willfully killing innocent children we can not expect God to answer our prayers.

  3. Actually, my son built the crosses for the KofC several years ago.

I believe that a few have not survived the years.

I believe that the gentleman who quoted the ratio should have said 500,000 to one.

    That would be more accurate.

The number of crosses that were built were meant to provide a visual image, not necessarily to be an accurate numerical representation.
