Bruce Kaplan Running for Mayor

Cary, IL – Bruce Kaplan formally announced his intention to run for Cary Village Mayor.

The election Will be held on April 9, 2013.

Kaplan, a veteran commercial real estate broker, along with three other newcomers to Village politics unseated four incumbents in the 2010 Village election and ran on a platform of
openness,
transparency,
focus on business friendliness and
basic common sense.

jumping into Cary Village politics to give the Village back to the residents, Kaplan has

consistently challenged the status quo and historical operational practices at Village Hall.

He is known for asking tough questions and in one case, saved a business owner $50,000 in unjustified building permit fees simply by questioning Standard operating procedures.

“We started a movement to give our town baok to the people,” said Kaplan, “and I hope to be able to further that end by assuming the lead chair on the Board.

“The Mayor’s role is to set the tone for progress through sensible, respectful dealings with staff, residents, and businesses by exhibiting an inclusive leadership style that fosters win-Win solutions for all parties. I see good things ahead for Cary and I hope to be able to use my training and experience to help the lagging commercial growth in our town.

“I’ll be the first to admit I don’t have all the answers to the problems that face our municipal government but I enjoy the challenge of finding solutions collaboratively with the residents, the staff Kaplan and his Wife Debbie have lived and raised four children in Cary since 1974.”

He has a Masters Degree from the University of Illinois, has owned his own business, and has numerous leadership credentials.
