  1. Let me get this straight.

These are the same clowns who

    (1) could not find a candidate to run against Franks.

    (2) And when someone DID step forward, she was not deemed to be in synch with the same kind of loser mentality that the state party has.

Remember, the ILLINOIS REPUBLICANS are the same group of party hacks that forced Jack Ryan out of the race over Obama/Axlerod’s dirty trick campaign.

These are the same party hacks that that the BRILLIANT (cough, cough) idea to run a CARPETBAGGER and radio talk show host whose only alluring attribute was that he black, from out of town against Obama.

These acts of STUPIDITY gave us Barack Obama as Senator which set America up to be RUINED by him as president.

I would rather take a benjamin and a grant and BURN them before I would even consider giving them to the imbeciles running McHenry County Republican Party.

  2. j—these are NOT the same imbeciles that did the things you rightfully say were “acts of stupidity”—these are men and women trying to right the ship and they are making headway.

    Don’t be a quitter!

Rather, be a part of the new blood trying to make the State solvent.

  3. j – Spot on. If they wanted to unseat Madigan so bad they could of at least held their nose and let her run.

Cal, on a different note have you seen the Vote Yes County Executive signs yet? They are in the Jack Franks colors (surprise surprise) and claim “lower taxes”. I saw a few scattered in Woodstock this AM on 120 and on 47.

If private individuals committed the same fraudulent advertising as these guys the government would lock them up. Guess the Divine Right of Kings is not gone.

  4. j: You are spot on.

    Same circus, same clowns.

On a different note, is it just me or do the local and state GOP do a lot of wine and now whiskey tasting kind of events to raise money?

Is that appealing to a lower standard (doubt it at $150/a pop, pun intended)?

In a culture where booze is so prominently featured and at the same time alcoholism is hitting record numbers (requring social services that already don’t have enough funding) is this what GOP leaders want to wrap their message in?

Oh wait, Illinois and local GOP “leaders”.

    Answered my own question.

  5. Whomever thought up whiskey tasting as a come on for political contributions should have their heads examined.

I’ll support good Republican candidates, but never anything like this.

Those attending will likely be the same people making big salaries, and contracts from County taxpayers’ pockets.

  6. **Whomever thought up whiskey tasting as a come on for political contributions should have their heads examined.**

I don’t know… I’m not a Republican, but I’m tempted to show up for a good whiskey tasting!

  7. Maybe some of that money will be used to scare off the next McHenry County citizens who wants to run as a Republican.

  8. **Maybe some of that money will be used to scare off the next McHenry County citizens who wants to run as a Republican.**

Nah… McSweeney can use his own money to bully people off of the ticket.

And if that doesn’t work, he’ll just file frivolous lawsuits to try and get them off the ticket.

  9. Lets have a bar crawl and ask the Sheriff .

Tom and Dee has about the same views.

Didn’t Tom recieve money from the same Dem PAC as Dee B? Check on it.

Mike and Tom did not like McSweeney, now they friends.

But when Dee B wins Tom and Dee B has lots in common.

    They will be friends again.

How many Sheriff Candidates will attend this great event?

    Lets drink and drive.

    Will Aaron attend?
Lets promote its ok to drink and drive if you pay 150.00 to the Party

  10. As j accurately noted, Illinois Republicans are a disaster.

We need no opponents, since we repeatedly continue to defeat ourselves.

This fund raiser is another prime example.

Sorry, Jim, but this doesn’t seem like new blood trying to right the ship!
