For the record, I elected, on my own, not to participate in this mailing.
There were several strategic reasons for this, which, if you would like to know, feel free to email me: nick at nickprovenzano.com and I will be happy to share with you.
But the number one reason was that I decided to use my limited campaign funds on a “Vote by Mail” program which was launched today and will assist ALL Republicans running in the 3rd District of McHenry County.
Sorry to burst your conspiracy theory but the facts are the facts.
4By the way Mr. WOW, The “endorsement” that you feel has eluded my campaign is noted on the address side of the post card.
As far as a pay raise, I must have missed that one. I recall a motion on the floor for substantial raises for all elected officials (even County Board Members). I talked against that motion, voted against it and it failed by a large margin.
You might be referring to the split salaries created by the board’s decision to stop a planned salary increase back in 2008. That created two salary levels for the same elected position – something the State’s Attorney told the board should not continue and had to be corrected when we set salaries for the next 10 year period (redistricting requirement). So we voted for an adjustment of a few hundred dollars to make all board members equal as required by law. Sorry to get so detailed with the facts but you really should be more informed since you seem so intent on commenting on issues you have little knowledge of.
