  1. The amount of money being spend in this race is insane.

But I will say this – it is very clear this is a competitive race, or McSweeney and Friends wouldn’t be putting in this kind of money.

  2. Talk about your stereotypical “used car salesman” face. YIKES!

  3. @Dave,

Yes the amount of money is insane.

Remember though it was Beaubien that broke the self funder caps that allowed this race to get out of hand.

There is certainly nothing wrong with her right to spend her own money.

    Just sayin.

My guess is this is McSweeney 54-46.

Both sides think anything under 10 is competitive.

    Especially with unlimited cash.

  4. Sigh… I didn’t make this into an attack on either candidate.

Not sure why you feel the need to do so.

Oh…and actually, McSweeney went over the cap in the primary so the massive spending started then.

But yes, Dee was the first one to go over the cap for the general, but I am really not sure how that is relevant to my point.

A massive amount of money is being spent in this race.

And the fact that McSweeney is still putting a lot of his own money, as well as raising massive money from elsewhere, shows that this race is still very competitive.

My prediction is that the final gap is smaller than what you’re predicting.

Dee could pull it off, but it is still an uphill battle.

  5. McSweeney did NOT break the cap in the primary.

He came close, but stopped short.

Roeser has donated $160,000 just in the general.

He does not want a Madigan puppet voting to bring pension liabilities back to the local school board districts.

We all know what will happen to our taxes if that passes.
