8th District Women to Duckworth: Enough on Abortion – Talk about Jobs
Today, pro-choice and pro-life women came together with Congressman Joe Walsh to call on Tammy Duckworth to stop discussing abortion and focus on the issues that matter to them today:
- jobs,
- the economy and
- the national debt.
The women were both pro-choice and pro-life and were business owners, community leaders and mothers from the 8th district.
Congressman Walsh began, “These women with me today, women not from California, but from within this 8th district – moms, business owners, grandmothers, community leaders, pro-choice and pro-life have all come together to ask a simple request of Ms. Duckworth: would you please have enough respect for women to speak to the issues that matter this year to women and their families?”
Business owner Marina Collazo followed,
“I’m pro-choice. I’m trying to build my business. I know where I stand on abortion. Talk to me like a real woman. I care about more things than abortion.”
Peggy Thotos, another 8th district business owner, added,
“Quite frankly, I’m offended that Tammy Duckworth feels that women’s main issue this election is abortion – I’m just offended by it. We’ve got so many people out there looking for work, worried about losing their homes and putting food on the table. Yet, she’s talking about abortion. It’d be nice to really see her focus on what’s important this election.”
Duckworth, a typical obama backer.
Outside of her attacks on Joe Walsh, what else has she done?
She like her hero has no agenda for the future.
If all you people think abortion isn’t important, think again !!
If the republicans have their way they will work this with the supreme court and get things over turned.
Then we will see all you women scrambling.
As for jobs our President put a great jobs bill to congress, passed by the senate and shelved in the house of Reps.
Their objective for 3 years has been to get our President out of office.
Now it would have been nice if they put some effort in jobs growth but ignored it.
Just today in Toledo Ohio Romney tells a big lie that Jeep is going to China.
A big lie verfied by Chrysler that the if anything are exspanding and want to hire 1,000 more people!!!
Then you have Sununo with his racist remarks.
The Republicans have no plan at all and now have turned to any tactic they can think of other than truths to sway votes and Walsh is along with this bunch.
The Dems are for WORKING CLASS AMERICANS. DON’T FORGET IT !!!

It seems to me that the abortion issue is brought up by liberals at every level of politics from city council, county board, mayoral, to State and Federal, every year for the past 40 or more years, yet it has not been an issue since the Supreme Court ruled, decades ago.
Those that constantly refer to this issue bore me with their lack of knowledge with regard to the substantive issues facing this Nation today.
I support both Romney and Walsh.
Let’s deal with term limits, government pensions, the tax code, energy, Iran, Libya, Syria, the defense budget and on and on.
Abortion rights don’t cut it today, but I am male and what do I know.

Dear Jim: It is not only Democrats who raise the abortion issue.
It is raised as an issue in county boards races as I go door to door and while I understand how deeply both sides believe their convictions around the issue- Frankly, I would like to take about planning, the cost of over time to the county and why I am still paying for bonds Valley Hi that have been paid off.
