After filing a Freedom of Information Request for photos of Keith Nygren’s chosen successor, Andy Zinke, I got a couple of photos in which you might be interested.
On July 5, 2012, this photo was taken by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department of Undersheriff and candidate for Sheriff Andy Zinke’s shaking hands with Deputy Lance Powell after the newcomer was sworn in.
One was dated July 5, 2012.
It was of the swearing in of Deputy Lance Powell.
That in and of itself might not interest anyone but Powell, his family and his friends, but look at the patch on Zinke’s right shoulder.
The Corrections Division patch Undersheriff Andy Zinke wore the day after the Fourth of July.
In his complaint to the U.S. Justice Department that Zinke was violating the Hatch Act, McHenry County Republican Sheriff’s candidate Jim Harrison contended that Zinke was still running the Corrections Division, which takes in lots of Federal money through the illegal alien detention floor, after the organization chart was modified to take him out of the loop.

If Zinke no longer had any authority over the Corrections Division, one would think he would not be wearing a Corrections Division patch.

There you go again, thinking.
I’ve seen him at functions in the past year or so, and he’s had both patches on his shirts.
Since both divisions are part of the same organization, so what?
No other REAL news to report today?
He’s the only commander that ever wore the patch of corrections on one shoulder and one of the police divisions on the other.
Could it be that he is so hated in the police divisions that he decided to try and gain support in corrections? I don’t think they are so gullible.
Maybe he is Bi-Patchual ?

The only people who are hoping for Andy to weather the storm are few and far between these days.
Morale at the department is higher than ever because the employees see the end of Nygren and Zinke on the horizon.
Zinke knows it too.
Crying about it isn’t going to stop the inevitable.
We need an Undersheriff that has fortitude and character, not a guy who breaks down crying about how tough life is getting.
Andy, you have tried to ruin the lives of good people, I bet none of them cried like a little baby to his band of suck-ups.
Yes folks, reports say that Andy was crying and emotional the other day in Investigations Bureau.
Innocent people don’t cry when they are wrongfully accused.
And what are you crying about?
You have the editors at the NWH in your pocket spinning the story.
I predict that it gets worse for Zinke and he will drop out of the race, then he will resign, retire or Nygren will find hiim a new job like he did Lowery.
Keep up the pressure Mr. Skinner.
We appreciate it immensely when Zinke has meetings and breaks down crying.
On the contrary, innocent people are the ones who DO cry.
I have no idea as to whether Nygren has done wrong- I am just saying- it is generally the innocent people who get used as speed bumps that break down.
I have good friends that work there and tell me that morale is very poor and the want anyone but Zinke.
My friends say that they stay out of any conversations because everyone is afraid of him and don’t trust him.
If there is ANYONE, ANYWHERE, who hasn’t had a job where SOMEONE doesn’t like the boss, or the incoming boss, I’d be amazed!!

Innocent people don’t cry, innocent people go after their accusers and show how wrong they are.
They don’t hide and say no comment.
They get out there and say tell the world how they are being set up and this is a travesty.
I have seen at least two cops in this county get accused of committing crimes and both of those guys either fought and won or are fighting and winning.

Maybe his wife ought to make a run for Sheriff.

Sometimes the innocents are completely floored by the accusation and how quick people are to just to conclusions with out due process.
Some people get overwhelmed by the whole thing- politics is not bean bag and the level some will stoop has no bounds.

So to follow the logic…everyone in at the County who wears a dept of corrections patch is in command of that area?
Does that also mean the correction officers who wear the Sheriff’s dept patches are in charge of the patrol division?

I respect your dogged perseverance on issues, but I honestly have been surprised and disappointed on the stance you have taken on the truly ugly personal attacks on Zinke’s wife’s family.
Your directing people to those links and tacit support of those ugly tactics have truly been a very disappointing surprise.
Truly thought you above that and would expect you to be one to try to reign such ugly family attacks in not tacitly encourage them.
