Jim Roden’s Literature Appears on My Door Knob

I’ve been complaining about the lack of political mail when most people would just be delighted to be merely subjected to television ads.

Today, my neighbor down the street Jim Roden, or someone working for him dropped off a door hanger with a small post card stapled to it.

After prying them apart, here they are:

Jim Roden’s red door hanger has a small biography on this side and, at the bottom, says, “Roden vs. Koehler.”

The other side of Democrat Jim Roden’s door hanger starts with the slogan, “It’s time for change in the County,” contains some more background information and then goes after “the County Board Chairman” for violating the Open Meetings Act and “highly questionable land sales and zoning amendments pertaining to 84 Lumber and placement of a new Metra station on land he owns.”

The address side of the small post card is headlined by “The McHenry County Board voted 16-3 not to allow voters to elect our chair!” and asks if that is “how County Board members and the Board Chairman should represent us.”

The side of the campaign piece where an address could go.

Roden then calls for voters to

  • Remove the chains imposed by the current Chair
  • Demand a voice for transparency
  • Cast an anti-Koehler, anti-dynasty vote, and
  • Look forward for a fresh start.

While Jim Roden complains about the County Board’s refusal to put a referendum on the ballot that would allow voters a say on whether they want to elect the Chairman in at-large election, he doesn’t point out that he is opposed to Jack Franks’ County Executive referendum.

Is there any other campaign mailings or literature that hasn’t been posted on McHenry County Blog?

If so, email them to me.

  1. I understand he’s an honest guy.

Probably not qualified for office then.

Has my vote without receiving a door hanger.

  2. Speaking of drinking water, will he demand removal of the neurotoxins that are put in our water?
