Terry Ekl Wins Chicago Code of Silence Case, Gets Mentioned at End of Tribune Story

If you looked at the photo of Bartender Karolina Obrycka in the Chicago Tribune today, you would notice unidentified guys to her right and left.

They are identified in the cutline as “her lawyers.”

The lawyers in the "Code of Silence" case in which Chicago Police participated in a cover-up when an off-duty policeman beat up a female bartender are not identified in the Chicago Tribune's picture. The lead attorney, seen on the left side of the photo, is Terry Ekl.

Those who read McHenry County Blog during the two trials of McHenry County State’s Attorney Lou Bianchi on trumped up charges might remember than his attorney was Terry Ekl.

And, that’s Ekl on the left hand side of the Tribune picture.

Here’s a better one:

  1. Can you believe it? Cops have a code of silence! Shocking. I wonder if there is a code of silence at the MCSO? I heard of guys speaking out but somehow they are all disgruntled or crazy.

If all cops did not fear the code of silence or didn’t adhere to it, the world would be a better place. 😉

And we would have less dirt bag cops.
