After being in hospice care, the mother of State Seantor Karen McConnaughay has passed away.

“It is with deep regret and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Marguerite Wiegand.

“Mother of Senator Karen McConnaughay, Marguerite died peacefully on January 28, 2013 surrounded by family.

“Our heartfelt condolences go out to her family and friends.

“A private service will be conducted for immediate family.

“Condolences to the family may be sent to Senator Karen McConnaughay’s District Office at 81 S. McLean Blvd. Suite E, South Elgin IL, 60177

“In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that donations be sent to Little Sisters of the Poor, Chicago.”
