Sixteen Years on Firearm’s Charge

A press release from the McHenry County State’s Attorney:

DEFENDANT ARMANDO FERRAL-MUJICA SENTENCED TO 16 YEARS IN THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR AGGRAVATED BATTERY WITH A FIREARM

Louis A. Bianchi, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announces that 22 year old Armando Ferral-Mujica, formerly of McHenry, was sentenced to 16 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for the class X offense of Aggravated Battery with a Firearm.

On December 3, 2011, the Defendant, along with an accomplice, attacked the victim, Jesus Agaton, outside an apartment complex in McHenry.

During the attack, the Defendant was armed with a handgun and his accomplice a machete.

The victim was shot in the chest, suffered severe lacerations to his head and neck, and had his thumb nearly severed.

Despite these injuries, the victim survived after undergoing emergency medical treatment.

This case was investigated by the McHenry City Police Department in cooperation with the McHenry County Major Investigation Assistance Taskforce.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorneys Patrick Kenneally and Dominic Buttitta.
