Fleming Road Update

Emily Berendt of the Fleming Road Alliance Organizing Committee offers the following update on Bull Valley’s Fleming Road:

“At the TransDot meeting Wednesday morning, the Transportation Committee approved a contract with Curran Contracting Company of Crystal Lake, Illinois for the work on Fleming Road. This resolution will be sent on the the full County Board for approval.

“According to the information in the meeting packet, the amount allocated to the project is $800,000.

“The bid consists of a cold-in-place recycling process where the existing footprint of Fleming Road will be preserved.

“Construction is anticipated to begin later this spring after school is out for the summer.

“A pre-construction informational meeting will be held in May to coordinate the project and impacts of the detour with area residents and emergency services serving the area.

“Your organizing committee for FRA is trying to schedule a meeting with Curran Company in the next few days to discuss the project and will report back to you.”

  2. Too bad the road is already severely deteriorating only after a few years.

    Not tax payer money well spent, buy the few homeowners on the road got what they wanted.
