On Fox River Grove Republican Precinct Committeeman Andrew Gasser’s blog appears a story about 708 Board salaries.
He writes about the overhead of the Mental Health Board in comparison with that of various charities.
For example, the Mental Health and Addiction Network spend 3% on administration, while the American Cancer Society spends over 19%.
So what has Gasser found is spent by the 708 Board?
Thirty-two employees appear on the spreadsheet he has prepared.
The Board spends over 11% on only salaries and benefits.
Add it administration and the percentage would obviously higher.
If I were on the County Board, I would tell the 708 Board that I would not approve its levy unless its administrative costs were 5% or lower.
I wonder if Obamacare will tax their benefits, some of which seem really generous.
The first problem with Andrew’s position is that the McHenry County Mental Health Board is not a charity.
Secondly, if you go to the compensation spreadsheet on Andrew Gasser’s blog, you’ll quickly see that no one is being overpaid.
And I don’t see any Board members on that list. There are only employees.
If you want employees to work for peanuts, you need to hire monkeys, not mental health professionals.
If the Mental Health Board had the income of the American Cancer Society, its percentage for administration would be much lower.
If you want to see a list of bloated incomes for a line-up of employees, look at the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department or many of the other County departments.
The MHB staff are anything but competent.
While it is true, it is not a charity, it is tax payer dollars and therefore should be fiscally responsible and transparent, which it is not.
Any funded agency by this board would tell you, that is if they were not so terrorized by the MHB, that the incompetence of the staff seriously jeopardizes agencies.
So, for an agency that produces nothing, has so little to do that they spend their days going to conferences, trips, and meetings, and their salaries outstrip any agency that does produce services…keep your defense, Mr. Phillpott but clearly you are grossly misinformed.
Guss I like that you think there are mental health professionals working for the MHB they don’t even have a CPA for doing their fake audits on agency’s no sir there is no one on the board that has any kind of degree in mental health sorry so grab your share the peanuts guss its payday
