The run-up to the March, 2014, Republican Primary Election has begun. Here’s a chance to hear one candidate who won’t drop out.

The Nunda Township Republican Central Committee has announced that they will be hosting Bruce Rauner, a candidate for Illinois Governor, as the guest speaker at their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday June 12th.

The meeting, which is open to Republican voters from Nunda Township and across McHenry County, will be held at American Community Bank located at 1500 S Il Route 31 in McHenry and will start promptly at 7 pm.

“We are very excited about the opportunity to give voters to hear from a potential candidate for Illinois Governor,” said Nunda Republican Chairman Mark Daniel, “we are expecting that this will not be the last potential Governor candidate to visit us prior to the March 2013 primaries.”

Vice Chairman Mike Shorten added, “ I’ve heard from many Republicans in the Township and they are adamant that we need a dramatic change in Springfield, so we are looking forward to giving voters an opportunity to hear directly from candidates.”

The Nunda Township Republican Central Committee is an elected and appointed group of Precinct Committeemen who are committed to promoting Republican candidates and principals in Nunda Township.

  1. I hope the people who attend this meeting ask Mr. Rauner why he thinks it’s ok to use his money and personal contacts to get his daughter into a high school that she didn’t deserve to be in.

Honestly is this the kind of person we would want as an elected leader?

According to Crain’s Chicago Business, Mr. Rauner, who changed his voter registration address from Wilmette to Chicago in 2008, is alleged to have used his influence by making a personal call to then Chief Executive Officer of Chicago Public Schools, Arne Duncan, to obtain admission to Walter Payton College Prep for a daughter who, according to an unreleased report by the Inspector General of Chicago Public Schools, did not meet the entrance requirements of the school and was denied admission, only to be admitted to the selective enrollment school.[19]

According to the Chicago Tribune, the following year federal authorities launched an investigation into the admission practices at Chicago’s selective enrollment schools.
