Crystal Lake Beautification Opportunity

City administrators feel down on the job when they approved Crystal Point Drive in front of McDonald’s.

The media strip on Crystal Point Drive south of Route 14 between Chase Bank and McDonald's is badly in need of some landscaping.

Every time I drive out of McDonald’s I see the underdeveloped median strip that you see above.

One would think that Chase Bank or McDonald’s would be willing to put some dirt in and plant some perennials to beautify the area.

When people go to McDonald's, Chase Bank or the Tri-County Pregnancy and Parenting Center (indicated), they seen gravel and grass as they turn off Route 14.

Maybe a nudge from City administrators at this point would do the trick.

Or, maybe city residents will have to wait for the next Tax Increment Financing District to be approved for the rest of Route 14 so we can have ornament lamps extend east from the current Virginia Street TIF District.

Or maybe a local garden club will take on the project.

  1. How about we spend money on schools before we think about gross median beautification?

Certainly a Tiff District or Enterprise Zone would be nice, regardless, grass would suffice.

A 10lb bag of Canada Green Grass Seed is $15.00.

    Conservatism and conservation in action!

  2. Put in some dirt and wildflowers…grass needs to be cut and wastes a lot of tax dollars on a job that anyone can do.

  3. I think your right Cal.

Instead of using the tax payers dollars to fight Scott Milliman and Zane Seipler in Federal court, they could use tax dollars for the things they were meant for.

How large is the BILL Nygren and Zinke????? How much is that shipment of drugs into Rita Corp worth??
