Who would have thought that a State Representative’s fund raising invitation would have merited a Chicago Sun-Times column by Carol Marin?
Now, maybe if a male State Representative had had a trailer with prostitutes (as I have been told one did a couple of decades ago) that might be worth a story.
Comments on Illinois Review apparently led to the Marin column.
Her piece is a frothy one, perfect for mid-summer when no one is paying much attention to politics.
Below you see the invitation:
If you want to see some shots from two of Wheeler’s parties, here they are
- the 2012 party “Bikini Cover-up at Wheeler’s Fund Raiser”
- the 2010 party, “Barb Wheeler Has Well-Attended Nunda Fund Raiser”
She also has photos on her Facebook page.
There was something newsworthy about all of Wheeler’s fund raisers:
There was no minimum price.
It was like the Springfield “envelope” fund raisers I attended while working with Bill Cellini on Denny Kelley’s 1971 mayoral campaign…which ended in overwhelming defeat.
