The Northwest Herald is reporting and McHenry County Blog has confirmed that McHenry County Sheriff Keith Nygren has fired Deputy Zane Seipler for the second time.

Seipler ran unsuccessfully against Nygren in the 2010 Republican primary election.

The firing explains why the anti-Andy Zinke blog has popped up.

Under Departmental General Orders, deputies cannot operate blogs.

Nygren has been wanting to fire Seipler since he won a grievance about his first termination.

Seipler first won at the arbitrator’s level.

Nygren appealed.

Then he won it in Circuit Court in what is called an Administrative Review. The judge in such cases is mandated to use only the evidence provided the arbitrator.

Nygren appealed.

Seipler won in the 2nd Appellate Court.

Nygren appealed to the Illinois Supreme Court.

Illinois top court refused to consider the petition.

Seipler was re-instated.

Nygren’s attorney told the NWH that he expects Seipler to appeal.

Seipler’s attorney Blake Horwitz says he expects Seipler to win that appeal, just as he won the first.

And, attributed to Nygren attorney Kelly is the following:

“The Sheriff’s Office referred all inquiries on Seipler’s most recent firing to Kelly, who said he anticpates this firing will be much like the first.”

However, Nygren will accomplish his goal of depriving the family of a deputy’s income, which was quite stressful, according to testimony in Seipler’s Federal wrongful termination suit.

Rose Seipler made the following comment under the NWH story and has given McHenry County Blog to reprint it:

“Once again, this paper has only written part of the story of what actually took place in court. This paper has never contacted me nor my attorney for comment.”I was asked to make a blog in court as I had done back in 2011.

“When I got up to the stand, to my surprise, I was asked to do it without touching a keyboard, a mouse, or any part of the computer.

“I was to give verbal commands to a court clerk on a federal computer.

“How many of you normally operate a foreign computer, keyboard, or mouse with verbal commands (2 years ago)?

“At that moment, my attorney and I should have insisted in allowing me to demonstrate exactly the way I remember building it in 2011.

“However I was not allowed to ‘touch’ a federal computer and proceeded to follow the judges orders.

“As I began to give verbal commands, I quickly realized that the blog site had changed.

“Everything was different from what I recall doing a year earlier.

“I stated to the judge this is not the way I made it , it looks different.

“Then I had Mr Horowitz asking me to do something or access something a different way.

“At that moment I did not understand what he was asking me to do and I don’t think he did either.

“As we all know, our computers, our cell phones, websites, search engines update and change rapidly and on an ongoing basis.

“No one has ever claimed to be a computer expert.

“I played around on the computer until I figured it out like most of us do.

“I respectfully disagree with Judge Kapala’s opinion.

“As Mr Leist stated a few weeks ago, ‘An opinion is just that, an opinion’.

“Now the McHenry county taxpayers are on the hook once again paying for Nygren’s lack of leadership and his legal problems.

“As Mr Kelly stated in this article, he anticipates this 2nd firing to go like the first.

“Zane WILL WIN every step of the way as he did the first time.

“Taxpayers will pay for the lawyers, the court costs, the appeals, the back pay, the health insurance and so on.

“When this case goes to arbitration, the 2014 Sheriff’s primary race will be at hand.

“I sincerely hope the Mc Henry County voters have had enough of this administration!

“We hope to see a new, truly transparent Sheriff in office.

“Good Luck Mr Bill Prim.”

Sheriff Keith Nygren Fires Zane Seipler for the Second Time, Attorney Says Seipler Will Get His Job Back Again — 24 Comments

  1. Beep, beep. Room for more in the Philpott, Bachmann and Seipler clown car.

  2. Neverending: Andy, is that you?

I know it’s not Nygren, since his fingers are too chubby for a keyboard and they probably are in someone’s wallet anyway.

A real county board would bring this whole episode up in public hearing and address this and even override Nygren’s decision and spare the county residents more litigation costs.

Not Tina, just like Neckbeard wouldn’t.

And it’s apparent that there are not enough Donna Kurtz’ and (sigh, I hate to admit it) Mike Walkups to hold people accountable.

So I’ll join that clown car, Neverending, as there is more room there than in a federal prison cell.

  3. Zinke Stinky and Tyrant Nygren.

Take a bow, you let one of our finest officers go for the second time….The tax payers will have to pick up the tab for this one as well….

    Shame on you! Lets see:

Greg Pyle a former Mchenry County officer is in Federal prison for sexually abusing children.

Nygren allowed Pyle to continue to wear the badge even though he knew Pyle is a sexual predator.

Then Nygren fires one of our finest officers Zane Seipler ?

Do you even know how to do your job Zinke and Nygren? T

here is no excuse for your behavior…..

We all know who the real problem is Nygren and Zinke.

    GO get em Zane! …

The tax payers can put a stop to all of this nonsense, by saying no to CORRUPTION and YES to BILL PRIM

  4. From all that I find from research is that Seiplier just wants to work for a department that is not corrupt.

A deputy, police officer are bound by law to report any illegal activities.

This is what he did and rightfully so.

Then his is persecuted for it.

AZ – you are one sick puppy.

  5. Just had an opportunity to check out some info. Nyren/Zinke brag about all the money they bring into the county from the ICE Unit.

The facts are here – It costs us $131.38 a day to house them.

We get $85 a day from the government for them. WE LOOSE ($46.38 ) A DAY.

Nygren/Zinke seem to have a problem with addition.

We need better leadership and a stop to THEIR LIES.

    Bill Prim has my vote.

  6. The only thing that adds up with Nygren and Zinke is CORRUPTION.

    NYGREN + ZINKE = CORRUPTION

May the Feds take their pensions and return it to the victims of their crimes.

Back in the day, Nygren use to come to my house for Republican social events. And, while the party was going on down stairs I was upstairs talking to Federal Agents….A very friendly man he was..

  7. Keep up the good work fellas, Nygren has a history that should be exposed.

  8. So if I have this right courts have now ruled twice that Zane has lied?

And this makes him a hero to the “vote for Prim” crowd?

No matter what you think of the current administration “Deputies” like this can not be the answer.

It was ruled that Zane signed documents falsely saying passengers were driving and now a Judge rules he was lying in court for personal gain and this is the kind of Deputy the Prim crowd thinks we should hold up as an example?

  9. AZ supporter and aretheyserious, I think the fellas should check you out too . . . birds of a feather flock together, and it appears you belong to that flock.

  10. So the Prim crowd looks at a Deputy twice having been found to have lied and thinks that represents one of our finest Deputies?

    Let’s see if this right.

He admitted to signing tickets saying that female passengers were actually driving to give male passengers a “break”.

That is what Prim’s supporters think is the example of a “finest” Deputy?

Bullying and issuing false tickets to our daughters?

Now a Federal Judge rips into him for lying under oath in an attempt for personal financial gain at the expense of county taspayers?

This is what Prim supporters want in our Law Enforcement officers?

We have done it repeatedly in the past, and I think the voters of McHenry County will once again reject that kind of “law enforcement”

  11. I also am continually entertained by the whole “hey we filed a bunch of lawsuits against the Sheriff’s Department, so you should elect one of us so that we stop”, argument.

    Pure genius, lol..

How about you gain some credibility by not getting caught lying by the courts, or getting your cases thrown out because you didn’t actually think to ac least accuse your target of doing something illegal and prove just one of your tin foil hat accusations?

  12. are they – well I have FINALLY decided to jump in.
    Let’s talk about liars.

Nygren sends out a literature piece in the last election bragging about all of his accomplishments in the department.

Then, those who knew better, contacted a lot of people with an email that went viral.

Listing these “accomplishments” by Nygen and listing the people that REALLY implimented them.

Then Nygren sends out a “back peddle” piece to try and cover.

Just one of a million lies by Nygren.

When he worked for the Crystal Lake PD cost them a good dollar for law suits they lost because of his behavior.

He was like a crazy running around the town with is gun and badge doing nasty things to people.

He never even went to a police academy.

Got the job in Crystal Lake with connections.

The same good old guys we deal with now.

    Choke on it ‘are they”.

You are a clanking noise that people are catching on to.

  13. Thank you “oldtimer”.

We all know it starts at the top and rolls down hill from there……

Nygren has been horrible role model for the officers he leads.

It’s like they reached back into the dark ages and retrieved him…………….

Everyone in this community should say “NO MORE’ to the antics of Nygren ZInke and their followers…..

We the people have had enough………

  14. My “sick puppy” opinions and beliefs are no more nor less than any of the opinions and beliefs some of the other “citizens-in-the-know” who have posted here. First they want the Judge in Rockford to do something, but when he does and it’s not to their liking, he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. How many ways do you all want it to be? None of you all, and that includes ME, KNOWS anything. Zane THINKS he knows something, or everything, but remember his beliefs are based on HIS opinion and PERCEPTION of events. HE is the County’s God send, or Prim? Both have had enough problems in the past of their own making or preceptions; I’ll stick with what we have for now, and that is based on MY opinion and what I believe. All this bulls__t about Zinke and and the drug deals is just so much crap, as evident that the state attorney, the AG, nor the DEA has come forward to do anything about anything; that’s cause there ISN”T anything.

  15. The MARIJUANA was verified on that truck shipment…………..

It was not a figment of their imagination….

Though have to say you have all sorts of opinions and rationalizations to justify Zinkes behavior….

    Are you high?

Do you suddenly have the munchies?

  16. Yes it was Duncan- and Zinke broke what LAW???

No authority in LAW agreea with any of you people who want him charged-first, there has to be a LAW BROKEN, not an opinion asserted.

Want to cey to someone, call the DEA and ask them IF he broke any law?

Did this stop the DEA from catching the person or people who planted the drug in the truck?

I wish to work with FACTS, that can be PROVEN, and the people CHARGED with whatever crime they have committed.

Sorry people can’t be arrested and charged with the crime of “Duncan McHenry doesn’t Like Something”.

    Suck it up buttercup.

  17. AZSupporter . . . Buttercup?

Yep that would be a term we would expect from you . . . go visit Greg!

  18. Old timer…

Interesting that you want to hold Nygren responsible for any rumor of any wrongdoing by anyone in the Department but think it is dishonest for him to take credit for any accomplishment of the Department he is running unless he did it without anyone else’s involvement.

I don’t know Nygren, but I do know what it is like to have employees who want to blame their boss for everything bad but want credit for anything good.

    Freeloaders or Democrats usually.

  19. Old timer… Interesting that you want to hold Nygren responsible for any rumor of any wrongdoing by anyone in the Department but think it is dishonest for him to take credit for any accomplishment of the Department he is running unless he did it without anyone else’s involvement.

    Freeloaders or Democrats usually. 😉

  20. Duncan…Not sure if you are trying to mislead or if you don’t understand.

The truck you speak of was a shared load owned by a 3rd party shipping company.

Some other goods on it were headed to Crystal Lake.

Such trucks may then stop at several distribution centers and goods split to other trucks and towards their destination.

Imagine someone ordering illegal prescriptions and your order of Jelly Belly’s being on the same over the UPS truck.

The trick would be to figure out where those illegal goods were loaded and where that 3rd party shipper was dropping that part of the shipment.

You have to be a special kind of Naive to try to squeeze the actual facts into the narrative you want to so desperately spin it into.

REAL Law Enforcement wouldn’t bat an eye at pulling records from a cooperative company whose product order was on that same 3rd party truck…targeting them only makes sense when you have predecided on your political target and want to use the courts to chase your political desire instead of bringing all possible evidence in.

  21. I guess what I see the Prim folks saying here…is forget where the evidence leads if you are against us we will target you. and in some cases your family.

Prim may even be a good guy and he may yet do the right thing…but as long as he sits quietly by while his supporters go after Zinke’s family with vile attacks he will be an example of the worse in politics for me.

  22. aretheyserious, I have a question . . .

Zinke’s family has been advertising their profession, therefore it is public information.

Now if Zinke feels, that being a man, needs this in his family life, a Pyle in his midst, with domestic problems, I would say, Zinke has a problem manning up.

  23. aretheyserious; Damn the facts, full steam ahead on the “I believe this to be true” train.

Serious options, on their beliefs, have no place in their thinking.

That’s one of the reasons that they’re obviously not cops; the ones I know don’t jump to conclusions.
