Richmond Village Board Considering Gun Control Wednesday Night

I’m having a hard time figuring out how a non-Home Rule municipality has the authority to pass a local ordinance which is not provided in state law.

Non-Home Rule units can only do what state statues say they can do.

There is no law that allows non-Home Rule units to regulate guns.

That’s why I didn’t think the meeting in non-Home Rule Marengo was worth my time.

But the Northwest Herald is reporting the Richmond Village President Peter Koenig has something on the agenda tomorrow night.

I might just take a trip up to Richmond Wednesday night for the Village Board’s at 7 PM.

At least I’ll get photos of the village board members and jot down what the members say during the debate.

What they say might just inspire challengers when some come up for re-election.

  1. Right before Independence Day.

Does anybody else find this ironic?

Or maybe disturbing is the correct word.

  2. Nygren/Zinke use our tax money for their vindictive pursuits.

So much $$$ have gone to people abused by them in law settlements.

Then the amounts are sealed so that the public does not know how much they cost us.

From everything I have checked on, Seipler only wants to be able to work in an environment that is not corrupt.

Peace officers are required by law to report any such activity.

When he did that they went after him.

Thus by doing the right thing he is persecuted.
