The Northwest Herald asks for a clean Sheriff's race.

The Northwest Herald asks for a clean Sheriff’s race.

Contrast the Northwest Herald’s editorial with the article about my complaint about Sheriff’s candidate Andrew Zinke’s using his office email at 3:40 on Wednesday, July 10th, to explain his showing him giving the finger to those along Crystal Lake’s Independence Day Parade along Dole Avenue.

This article appeared int he Northwest Herald the same day as the editorial seen above.

For those of you who have not read the email from Zinke’s Sheriff’s Department account about which I complained, you can do so in the articles below:

Message of the Day – Juxtaposition — 12 Comments

  1. It’s about time someone held him accountable for his behavior.

Darn right that email should not have been sent by Zinke during work hours, and he know’s it..

There are reasons why those rules are in place and they apply to everyone including Zinke..

This only demonstrates further that Zinke is above the law and rules and laws do not apply to him..

  2. I failed to see Undersheriff Andrew Zinke using the departmental system and hardware for political purposes.

The fact is he was not under attack as a candidate for Sheriff, but as the Undersheriff of McHenry County. In his email he simply expressed that he was being victimized by lies and accusations and felt the need to explain his side as the Undersheriff of McHenry County.

Andrew Zinke did state in his email an undisputable fact that since announcing his candidacy he has been under personal attacks, as well as his wife, friends, in-laws, and even his children. In this statement he was simply expressing the reasoning behind these lies and accusations that started after he announced his candidacy.

When he stated, ‘I would like to thank you for your words of encouragement and support,’ he is asking for their words of encouragement and support as the Undersheriff of McHenry County that is being victimized by lies and accusations.

The conclusion is the fact is that not once did he ask for support as a political candidate in his email.

    Therefore case closed!

  3. Fuk – interesting name. Isn’t similar to the word used by Mrs. Zinke when shouting out in public arenas?

  4. Fukoku Kyohei- “Enrich the country, strengthen the military”.

I’m guessing ‘Fukoku’ is a County employee, or a relative.

Hey, Cal- why not have each poster’s IP address appear with their post?

IP addresses do not lie, unlike anonymous cowards….

  5. Debunked?

Zinke tipped-off Brian Goode about the DEA’s investigation, that is public record.

Even if Goode is completely innocent, Zinke’s interference in the investigation leaves Goode and the Rita Corporation under suspicion.

    Mudslinging?

Prim knew rogue cop John Bueno was beating people, lying under oath and condustion unconstituional searches and seizures and did not investigate, reprimand, or protect evidence, and even gave hime very good performance evaluations.

This is fact not rumor, gossip or mudslinging.

Maybe the Herald could commit some journalism and look into these issues?

  6. Zinke – under attack?

Gee, now why would that be?

Just because he outed a confidential DEA investigation?

Or because he, while in uniform, driving a marked MCSD vehicle and representing MCSD in Crystal Lake’s parade (or was he?) flipped off Cal Skinner?

Or because he displayed his not-too-subtle magnetic (campaign) sticker on a County vehicle?

    Zinke has only one boss.

    That’s Keith Nygren.

Zinke does NOT report to the County Board.

And the County Board does not, as Zinke claimed to the Northwest Herald, “oversee all county officers.”

    Certain hired administrators?

    Yes.

    Deputy sheriffs, including the Undersheriff?

    No.

Zinke bypassed a necessary link in the chain-of-command. Will Nygren discipline Zinke for that?

  7. Joe – Prim never gave that evaluation to the rogue cop.

    His former supevisor was.

The NWH said Prim was the Police Chief of DesPlaines.

HE WAS NEVER THE POLICE CHIEF.

    Get some straight facts.

“Commander William Prim, the only witness the Union called to testify, was the Grievant’s supervisor prior to his termination (Tr. 546, 567). Prim testified that he never condoned the use of unnecessary force against the arrestees, he never rewarded an officer for the use of unnecessary force, and he never gave the Grievant a positive performance evaluation as a signal to condone excessive or unnecessary force (Tr. 562 – 563).”

  8. FYI – You Prim People are unbelievable – let’s discus facts.!!!

1). January 20th 2012, Grievant and a suspect in the pink room, Grievant punched suspect with enough force to draw blood. ((This was brought to Mr. Prim’s attention )) – (( NO ACTION TAKEN by Commander William Prim ))!! Even though Grievant is his employee .

2). August 12th 2012 , Grievant punched restrained suspect in the face with enough force to cause the right eye to swell shut!! This would have also been evident in the booking photo. (Agree)) ??
When this was brought to commander Prim’s attention – within a week (( NO MEASURABLE ACTION TAKEN by Commander William Prim ))!! Even after reviewing the booking photo!!

    3. No action was ever taken against Grievant by Commander Prim.!!!!

Do I need to request a copy of all Grievants performance appraisals that were completed for Grievant by commander Prim and show the true overall evaluation?

Maybe when this is all revealed, you guys can go back to slinging mud at Mr Zinke’s family members.

  9. Grievent was fired!

    Quit the crappy spin.

‘He worked for Prim for a very short time. Prim never wrote an evaluation or approved one for this guy.

Why does the end have the above:

“Commander William Prim, the only witness the Union called to testify, was the Grievant’s supervisor prior to his termination (Tr. 546, 567). Prim testified that he never condoned the use of unnecessary force against the arrestees, he never rewarded an officer for the use of unnecessary force, and he never gave the Grievant a positive performance evaluation as a signal to condone excessive or unnecessary force (Tr. 562 – 563).”

    This was an arbitration hearing.

All kinds of people can say all kinds of things.

    Does not make it true.

    O

  10. PS – That last is the arbitrators decision as to Prim.

Pulling up any statements made by someone that may have an axe to grind (such as maybe got reprimanded by
Bill or of that nature) can say anything.

After being a leader for 27 yrs. in a department, some people will not be happy with you, especially if you do your job right.

Leadership is something fuk does not seem to know anything about.

  11. FYI , So as a leader with 27+ years of experience,

WHAT MEASURABLE ACTION DID COMMANDER PRIM TAKE ?

When this was brought to his attention???

Keep in mind, Commander Prim reviewed the booking photo!!!!

Also keep in mind, this was a detainee transfer from elmhurst – very easy to collaborate the photo and the condition of the detainee when released by Elmhurst PD
