“The CLPD has a few more seats available for its Citizen Police Academy.

“Hi Cal Skinner,

“The Crystal Lake Police Department is now accepting applications for its Citizen Police Academy which will start on September 5, 2013 and end November 21, 2013.

“The class will meet on Thursday nights from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. In order to participate, you must be at least 18 years of age, complete the Application and Waiver of Liability located on the City of Crystal Lake Webpage and pass a criminal background check.

“Preference is given to residents and persons that work in Crystal Lake.

“Once residents and persons that work in Crystal Lake have been accommodated, anyone else is free to attend.

“Applications must be received by August 28, 2013 for consideration for participation. Anyone interested should contact Officer Kimberley Shipbaugh at 815-356-3683 or by e-mail at kshipbaugh@crystallake.org.”
