McHENRY, IL – Nick Provenzano today announced his candidacy for McHenry County Clerk. Current McHenry County Clerk Katherine Schultz announced yesterday that she would not be seeking reelection in 2014.

“I have had the honor and privilege of serving my community as their fiscal watchdog on the McHenry County Board, and now I plan to take that record of fiscal conservatism to the County Clerk’s office,” said the McHenry County Board Member.

“My entire career I have fought to ensure government respects the public’s hard-earned tax dollars because I understand that it is our citizens’ money that we are spending.”

Provenzano has been a proven conservative reformer on behalf of McHenry County taxpayers.

He has consistently voted against tax levy increases and pay raises for elected officials and government employees.

He fought for a balanced, fiscally responsible budget in McHenry County.

He has led the fight for allowing the people of McHenry County to have a voice in selecting their County Board Chairman.

He works with economic development organizations to help McHenry County businesses expand.

And he continues to utilize his intergovernmental relationships to help improve the county’s transportation infrastructure.

Provenzano concluded: “I greatly respect Clerk Shultz’s service to our community and appreciate the hard work she put in to build a top-notch Clerk’s office.

“I intend to build on her successes by significantly advancing technology in the office.

“This modernization will lead to long-term cost savings, better access for the public, increased security, and quicker results and reporting.

“Ultimately, I want to make interacting with the Clerk’s office easier and more efficient for the people we serve.”

Nick Provenzano Running for County Clerk — 6 Comments

  1. Other than being a political regular and also ran for everything that provides a public check and nice pension, what has Nick Provenzano really accomplished other than successfully campaign?

    What is his education?

Last I remember he sold cell phones, does that make him qualified to be the Clerk?

How about some new faces that have a background in human resources becuase the Clerk is a huge office.

How about business management or IT background?.

The Clerks office is a technical hub of secure voting equipment.

Rightfully I want someone that doesn’t have ties to one bunch of good old boys that will cook the books to help someone gain office.

Kathy Schultz is honest beyond question and maintains a great guard on the integrity of the vote.

Hopefully someone with her integrity steps forward.

  2. I am truly glad to see someone like Nick run for that office.

He was in the paper for putting the County Board Chairman vote on the ballot.

I’m sure he’ll do a fine job because that office does need a technological face lift.

  3. I’m curious to see who else runs for this

He is our best hope at updating that office to a 2013 standard.

I vote for pro-life candidates only and I know he is pro life

I know that shes been in there as long as i remember, its time for a change. I vote for nick

  4. John F and Tamarathenurse are obvious Provenzano relatives.

Why would anyone support a guy who has no legitimate experience at anything other then being a slimy political hack.

  5. People are uninformed and get to the ballot box and just vote for anyone regardless if they know anything about the person running or not. IF you don’t know anything about the person, don’t vote!

Provenzano is a guy that runs for anything until he gets elected and then pole vaults to another elected job. He is the classic know nothing political hack. Once you get elected you can ask to be on any number of ‘advisory boards’ or local charity organizations to make it appear there is some substance to your qualifications. WHAT EDUCATION does he have? What did he do before he decided to suck at the public teat?

This position pays somewhere around six figures and there must be at least 35 or 40 people in the office. This job controls and holds the integrity of the election process. The minimum qualification should be a BA Business or Management with an MBA or MPA being prefered. My opinion is that a cell phone salesman falls short of the qualifications.

If Provenzano applied for a job in industry his resume wouldn’t even get him an interview. Isn’t politics lovely?
