Suspicious Woodstock Death Ruled from Stabbing

A press release from Dr. Anne Majewski, McHenry County Coroner:

Dr. Anne Majewski, the McHenry County Coroner, announced today that her office, in conjunction with the Woodstock Police Department and MIAT, is investigating the death of a Woodstock man found dead yesterday in a home on the 1900 block of Sheila Street, Woodstock IL.

The scene of the death was south of the Courthouse in Woodstock.

The deceased is a 34 year old Hispanic male identified to be Mark A. Medina of Woodstock, IL.

Preliminary findings of the autopsy done this afternoon reveal that the victim died from multiple stab and incised wounds on his chest and upper body.

Toxicology is pending at this time.

No other details are available at this time.

The police continue to investigate the death as well.

  1. This incident occured near three Woodstock schools.

    My guess is the stabbing was drug related.

    Children walk by this area every day, to and from school.

    Our police need to closely monitor this neighborhood and the apartment complexes associated with it!
