McHenry County College Passes Flat Budget

The big news out of the McHenry County College Board room Thursday night was the passage of a budget based on the assumption that the levy would be flat.

With two Trustees absent, the vote was 3-2.

All three of the votes to restrain taxes

Tom Wilbeck

were from the newly-elected Trustees:

  • Chris Jenner
  • Molly Walsh
  • Tom Wilbeck

The votes against a flat budget were cast by

  • Linda LIddell

    Linda LIddell

    Cynthia Kisser

  • Linda Liddell

Student Trustee Michele Lambert also voted for higher taxes, but while her vote is recorded, it does not really count.

Ron Parrish and Mary Miller were absent.  Parrish would probably have voted for the flat budget; Miller would not have.

    Please continue your efforts to increase the efficiency of government institutions, establish balanced budgets that work within goals and services, and make them/us accountable for decisions made for our students and taxpayers for now and the future.
