Stupid Is As Stupid Does – US Government Web Sites Shut Down

A friend of McHenry County Blog went hunting for something on the United State Geologic Survey web site and found what you see below:

Does anyone object to my calling the USGA's pulling down of its web site "stupid"?

Does anyone object to my calling the USGA’s pulling down of its web site “stupid”?

Wasn’t one of the purposes of web sites to allow people to obtain information without talking to people?

You would probably not print the words I would like to say, so “stupid” is fine.

I so dislike (that’s a soft word too) being manipulated/intimidated by our politicians on both sides…all the way to the top.

California, New York, and Chicago are essentially running the country – and we know how well they have done financially.

  2. You may be surprised to learn that data centers and server farms require humans to maintain and operate them.

The internet isn’t a giant robot.

  3. Anonymous Coward- you may be shocked to learn that the USGS has to do what Congress tells them to do- and Congress told them to go home.

  4. I think WalMart should step in as the Fed Provisional Government. Higher quality than what’s currently provided and whatever I don’t like, I can return for full refund.

In the meantime, since there are no more rules. I’m thinking of trying Bald Eagle, braised in a good Reisling for dinner tonight.

  5. I think Boehner should be a man and call up a vote on a clean opening of government with no amendments attached.

The votes are there but stupid people follow the Hastert rule which is not a rule.

Hastert is no one to emulate.

In 2012 he used taxpayer funded money to conduct private business.
