Campaign School Coming to Crystal Lake

A campaign school run by a top-flight training organization–The Leadership Institute–is holding a workshop at McHenry County College on October 19th.  The details are below:

Come out and take part in a day of training in your area by experts from the Leadership Institute, a national conservative training organization that has trained more than 123,000 activists and leaders since being founded in 1979 by Morton Blackwell.

The training will take place Saturday, October 19th, 2013 at McHenry County College, Breakout Room, located at 8900 U.S. 14, Crystal Lake. Cost is $30 for activists, running from 8:30a-1p, and $40 for candidates, running from 8:30a-4p. Topics covered include:

  • 9:00 Organizing Your Precinct
  • 10:00 How to Hold the Other Side Accountable
  • 11:00 Social Media – Using it Effectively for Activism
  • 12:00 Working with the Media (Traditional and New)
  • 1:00 How to Communicate Effectively
  • 2:00 Fundraising
  • 3:00 Developing a Winning Campaign Plan

Expert trainers will guide attendees through these important topics, providing instruction, information, and examples.

This training is intended for both beginners and more experienced individuals, though beginners should be prepared to take a lot of notes.

Attendees will be given resources for continued learning and access to experts for continued advice.

Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to network with their fellow activists and candidates from the area, growing their network and strengthening their team.

Finally, attendees will have opportunities to have their questions answered and get one-on-one guidance.

I took a multi-day course from the Leadership Institute in the early 1990’s, plus one more recently at the Family Taxpayers Network. I highly recommend the quality of their instruction.
